Translational research in water and agriculture engineering is of incredible importance in the world today. The need is great worldwide for scientists and engineers to manage and protect resources. Of special importance related to sustainable water use is the water/food/energy nexus, as the 70-90% of global freshwater supplies are diverted for use in agriculture, and considerable energy resources are utilized in this endeavor. In my research, my overarching goal is to contribute to the discovery, development, and implementation of sustainable technologies for water and food security. I am driven to produce highly impactful, translational, application-oriented research results that develop and spin-out into technologies of impact.
