Industrial Cooling Tower Pilot Facility

Brand: Cooling Tower Pilot Plant

Model: Cooling Tower Pilot Plant

Cooling towers play important roles in many industrial operations in Saudi Arabia in dissipating heat generated from industrial operations and processes. The WDRC has set up a three-train pilot cooling tower in KAUST’s Central Utility Plant with an area of nearly 100 m2, as part of its research activities on industrial water treatment. The pilot plant helps researchers to asses the effectiveness of conventional and alternative treatment schemes in controlling cooling tower operations, including minimizing fouling and scaling and improving discharge water quality. The pilot plant is fully automated with three seawater-cooling towers that have automated make-up and blow-down water balances and real-time monitoring that acquires data from more than 90 online sensors. It also has dosing controllers for accurate dosing along with system controllers.
