Babar successfully defended his dissertation entitled, "Early biofouling detection using fluorescence-based extracellular enzyme activity". He not only satisfied the inquiries into his work, but other opportunities for exploration have also opened up since he started his research four years ago.
He wishes to thank each and every member of the WDRC for making his time at the center enjoyable and a success. Everyone had been very supportive and willing to offer practical advice whenever he encountered setbacks. Specifically, Babar is thankful to his advisor, Prof. TorOve Leiknes for his immense support and positivity over the years, both academically and professionally. Babar sees the completion of his Ph.D. as the first foray into the academic world and towards furthering his childhood passion for learning.
As a parting gift, Babar shares the same message he imparts to his family, in the words of Theodor Geisel from his famous children's book, I Can Read with My Eyes Shut!, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
