Elaf successfully defended her thesis entitled "Electrochemically Active Biofilm-assisted Nanomaterial Synthesis and its Environmental Applications" under the supervision of Prof. Peng Wang.
Elaf's research interest is in the synthesis of environmental nanomaterials using electrochemically active biofilms. She received her Ms. in Environmental Sciences and Engineering from King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) and in 2011 her bachelor degree in microbiology from King Abdulaziz University.
