Ph.D. Student

Education

  • M.Sc., Environmental Science & Engineering, KAUST, Saudi Arabia, 2022
  • B.Sc., Food Engineering & Biotechnology, University of Guadalajara, Mexico, 2016

Professional Profile

Carlos' research interests include the nitrogen cycle applied to wastewater treatment like the anaerobic ammonium oxidation (anammox) process and DNRA. He also studies microbial interactions in bioengineered systems through different multi-omic tools and mathematical modeling. The aim of his research is to generate more knowledge to achieve neutral or positive energy wastewater treatment.
