Prof. Johannes Vrouwenvelder has been appointed full time Professor of Environmental Science and Technology at WDRC, KAUST.

WDRC Research Scientist, Dr. Chun-Hai Wei​​, was awarded for his paper presented at the Eighth International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology ​2016 IC EST in ​Houston, Texas. ​

PERSGA, the Regional Organization for Conservation of the Environment of the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden, invited 5 faculty members from the Biological and Environmental Science and Engineering Division (BESE) at KAUST to give specific lectures in the 3-day regional workshop.

Prof. Noreddine Ghaffour organized a field trip in his course Water Desalination Technologies (EnSE325). Assisted by Mr. Khaled Bin Bandar, one of the course attendees and a Ph.D. student at the WDRC-KAUST, a technical visit was organized to the Al-Shuaiba multi stage flash (MSF) desalination plant under the Saline Water Conversation Corporations (SWCC).

New studies carry potential for creating much more efficient water desalination systems in the Gulf.

WDRC held its 6th CIAP Meeting on November 10-12, 2015. More than 40 participants participated in this three-day event at KAUST.

KAUST's Winter Enrichment Program (WEP) hosted a Graduate and Post doctoral Research Poster Competition on the University's campus.

Prof. Kim Choon's project on “Hybrid Multi-Effect Adsorption Desalination: An Emerging High Efficiency and Low Cost Desalination" was named a winner in this year's Global Technology Challenge at Saudi Water & Power Forum (SWPF).​​

Nature Middle East features Professor Noreddine Ghaffour and Dr. Yong Jin's latest work! The team developed a salt-solution-infused thin-film condenser (SSTFC) system, which could contribute more than 50% energy savings compared with conventional defrosting systems.
